Psalms 118:1
“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭118‬:‭1‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Psalm 118 encourages us to express gratitude towards the Almighty and shares a personal story of how God came through in challenging times.

Life can sometimes make us feel alone when we face difficulties. But the Bible is full of tales of individuals who might have felt abandoned by God during their trials. The truth is, God is always by our side, no matter what. His Word promises that He will never leave us or forsake us. And when God says 'never,' He means it. We are never alone, even for a single moment.

God remains faithful in using the hardships we encounter as opportunities to teach us, guide us, and protect us. That rejection letter from college might have redirected your path to new friendships. A tough meeting with your boss could have pushed you to grow in areas of weakness. An argument with your spouse might have opened up doors for important conversations. Even when a loved one is in the hospital, it can create a chance for reconciliation among family members.

Every day, we have the opportunity to remember God's faithfulness amidst difficult circumstances. By shifting our focus from what's not going well, we can better recognize what truly is. God is present, right in the midst of whatever challenge you're currently facing. Just take a moment to look for Him and redirect your focus towards Him.

Now, I'm curious to know: What difficult situation are you navigating right now? Is it work-related, your marriage, your children, or something else within your church community? Take a moment to reflect on what you're learning or experiencing in this challenging season.

In your journal or notebook, write down the things in your life that are proving to be difficult, but that you're choosing to be grateful for. Also, if God has revealed Himself in the midst of these challenges, jot down what you've learned or how you've witnessed His presence and intervention.

Finally, spend a few minutes in prayer, expressing gratitude to God for the difficult circumstances and choosing to trust Him wholeheartedly throughout it all.
